Spring 2008 Newsletter
The venue for the last two years has been so successful that this year’s show will be in the same location of St. Nicholas Church Centre, Bedhampton. The show is on Saturday 2nd August. With the exception of the Floral Arrangement, handicraft and children’s sections which are open to anyone, the rest of the entries are restricted to member’s only, though anyone in the same household may enter, so please help to make this show even better by entering something, you never know you might surprise yourself!! The theme for the floral arrangement is “a seaside garden”. Schedules will be available at the store and at meetings, previous entrants will get a copy through the post.
Attendance at the meetings has been good this year and we were able to complete the A.G.M. business in January.
Mr Phil Jognor will be giving a talk on Heathers.
Mrs Jan Mitchell will be giving a talk on the history of British Beer.
To Sue Thwaites for her talk on being in a fit state to undertake any gardening activities. Copies of her handouts on useful exercises can be obtained from Liam Hutchings on (02392) 475140.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Society a park bench was donated and placed in the park. In case you were wondering what has happened to it, it was moved after the introduction of the ‘statues’ and is now in front of the flower bed by the lodge, in an ideal place to watch the cricket!
