Spring 2006 Newsletter
The committee would like to wish all our members and their families a very Happy New Year, good Health and rewarding gardening throughout 2006.
Even though every member had been reminded about the A.G.M. the attendance was very disappointing, we were one short of quorate.
Those members who were present agreed that the meeting should go ahead. Members had been told that one of the points to be raised at the meeting was the Increase in the annual subscription from £2 to £3, but it would have been unconstitutional for any vote taken at the meeting to be valid. The next committee meeting will have to resolve this matter.
The Officers for the Society for 2006 are as follows
One of the reports at the A.G.M. was about the future of the store. A new 5 year lease has been arranged, with a provision for a 6 month notice of termination between the Society and Havant Borough Council, so the store is safe for the moment.
The store re-opens on Saturday 28th January for all your gardening needs. We will keep in touch about access to the east as and when we know anything!
Brian Kidd – Creating space by using height. Brian our president is the News gardening columnist and is a very popular, knowledgeable and funny speaker, so please make an extra effort to attend and bring your friends, everyone is welcome!!
