Speaker: Mrs Coyle
Date: 24th September
Our first talk to be held in the new venue of Havant Arts Centre, East Street, Havant, proved very popular and was well supported with about 30 members attending. We even had to get in more chairs before the start! Car parking was easy and coffee or something stronger available in the café/bar.
Mrs Coyle, with her husband ably manning the slide projector, gave a fascinating and very informative talk in spite of just having had an eye operation.
She spoke about wild flowers in many different habitats, including fields, woodlands and hedgerows with examples from all seasons of the year, each being beautifully illustrated by slides.
Many of her pictures were taken on walks that she and her husband had taken while bird-watching.
This was a delightful start to our 2008/09 season of talks.
