Summer 2014 Newsletter
This years summer show will be held at the popular location of St. Nicholas Church Centre, Bedhampton on Saturday 9th August. Unfortunately several of our more prolific exhibitors have had to cancel this year, so we are desperately in need of new entrants.
Please have a really good search round your gardens, window boxes, allotments and house plants to see if there is anything that you could enter, fruit, veg, flowers or potted plants are all welcome, as are paintings, photographs, handicrafts and cookery (cakes, scones and jam).
If you have creative children or grandchildren they can enter for the handwriting or make an animal out of veg sections. More details are in the schedule which can be obtained from Geoff Tanton on (02392) 479419 along with entry forms. This is your chance to support your Society and have a bit of fun at the same time!
The change to an American supper, instead of the usual Fish & Chips one, proved popular and was enjoyed by all who attended. A “Thank you” to Biddy for organizing it and all who helped on the day.
A Kobes shredder in working order on offer for a small donation. For more details contact Liam Hutchings on (02392) 475140 who can arrange local delivery if needed.
Gardening for Wildlife – Alan Edmonson
Southsea Rock Garden – Jackie Baynes
All talks take place in the usual venue of the United Reformed Church Hall, Havant, and start at 7.30pm. We will be delighted to welcome you and any guests to these events, still only £1.00 entry including tea and biscuits!
