Winter 2012 Newsletter

From the Chairman
Members will share with me, officers and committee members the disappointment and regret at the decision not to proceed with this year’s Summer Show. This has only happened once before and this year it was due to horrendous weather conditions. Having asked our most prolific and regular exhibitors, it was found that there would not be enough entries in the flower and vegetable sections of such a standard as to make a quality show and cancellation was the only option.

As gardeners we can only hope that next year is better and the date for the Summer Show has been set for Saturday 3rd August 2013. We are very grateful to the St. Nicholas Church Centre for carrying forward the 2012 deposit and for making no charge for the 2012 cancelled booking. In conclusion, I would like to thanks you as members for your loyalty and my fellow officers and committee members for their help and support.
