Waitrose Green Token Scheme
The Society will benefit again from the green token scheme in March this year, so please put any tokens that you may be given when you pay you bill, into the Community Matters box labelled Havant Horticultural Society as you leave. £300, which was brilliant
Wednesday 28th March – Julie Newman from St. Albans C of E Primary School will give us a talk how they have developed an interest in Horticultural matters at the school. The pupils have received national recognition for achievements in pollination and being bee friendly in their school garden. Two of our committee members regularly help in their gardens.
Wednesday 25th April – Christine Iverson will give a talk on the superstition and folklore of the hedgerows.
Both talks start at 7.30pm at the United Reformed Church Hall, North Street – entrance £2 to include tea and biscuits.
Last year’s new-look show was such a success that we are doing it again this year, only better! It will take place on the 14th July at St. Faith’s Church Hall. Now is the time to plan what you are going to enter – Beans, Potatoes Carrots, Fruit, Rose, Potted Plant and Photograph. Please try and enter at least one exhibit to make 2018 even better than last year!! Entries are open to everyone, so spread the news!
