Summer Newsletter 2016

Summer Show 2016
It is with great regret and after due consideration that the committee is cancelling the Summer Show this year, because our Show Manager has not been well and several regular exhibitors are not going to be able to support us this year.

However, we are starting a new venture by asking members to bring any object of Horticultural interest from your garden, it could be anything from a potted plant, a handful of runner beans, a bunch of flowers to a display of fruit, to each monthly meeting.

There will be a small prize for the exhibit that is considered to be the best. We hope that this will encourage members to show each other what they can achieve in a less formal way.

May Supper 2016
This was very well attended. We were given a short talk by a lady from the Friends of the Pallant Garden in Havant. This was followed by some delicious food provided by the members and a lively Quiz that had everyone both thinking and amused!

New Members
The Society had a table at the party for the Queen’s 90th Birthday at the New Stride Community  Centre in Denvilles. There was a lot of interest and we managed to enrol 3 new members!

We are always looking for new members, so if you have friends, relatives or neighbours who might be interested in joining, please get them to contact Biddy on (02392) 475226

Ideas
The committee is always looking for ways to improve the Society for the benefit our members and would be grateful for any comments about things that we are doing well or could do in the future to inspire members to greater efforts!!
