May Supper, 27th May 2009

The annual may supper was held in the newly refurbished regular location of the United Reformed Church Hall in Elm Lane. The hall was attractively set out with a long table, white and blue table cloths and floral arrangements, which got the evening off to a good start.

The traditional fish & chips supper was served with fruit juices and accompanying condiments. This was followed by a delicious selection of deserts and tea or coffee. It was a really good evening, enjoyed by some forty members.

The feast was followed by a raffle organised by Anne and the plant sale was organised by Gwen with fun quizzes organised by Viv. Liam Hutchings, our Chairman, thanked the organising team of Viv Costall, and all her helpers, on behalf of the members present.

The new hall was greatly admired, it is light and airy and the new kitchen very bright and convenient. A modern reception area adds to the welcoming ambience.
